Account Requirments For Teachers and Students


Teachers are required to create a Pear Deck Account using either their Microsoft Office 365 or Google login credentials. They have the option to use a personal or organizational account.

For schools with Google Apps for Education or Office 365 Education, Pear Deck can be installed for all users. You can refer to the “Allow or Install Pear Deck in G Suite” or the “PowerPoint Online Add-in Administrator Installation Guide” for instructions.

Once you have created an account, you can install the Pear Deck for PowerPoint Online Add-in or Google Slides Add-on to create and present Pear Deck lessons.


On the other hand, students do not need to create a Pear Deck account. However, presenters have the choice to require participants to join the session with an email address or join anonymously before presenting.

If you choose to require students to join with a Google or Microsoft Office 365 account in your Settings menu, their email addresses will be saved for identification purposes, and their responses in the presenter’s Pear Deck account (refer to our Privacy Policy).

If you prefer not to collect any identifying information from your participants, you can have them join your sessions anonymously.

Join Pear Deck Session as a Student

Students, trying to join the presentation? Once you create a Pear Deck account, you can always go to or to join the lesson daily to view sessions, old class sessions, view calendar, recordings, etc.

  • Kindly access through your preferred web browser (although we suggest using Google Chrome, other browsers such as IE and Safari should function equally well).
  • You will be presented with this login page.
  • Enter the JoinPD Code given by your teacher.
  • Now, join the Session/ Lesson.

  • Please select the account type you wish to use for logging in.
  • You will then be prompted to authorize Pear Deck to access your Google Drive or OneDrive.
  • After that, you will need to answer a few questions to set up your account. Please note that we do not collect data from students.
  • To connect Pear Deck to your Google Drive or OneDrive, click the Authorize button. You will be directed to sign in with your email and password and then asked to grant Pear Deck the necessary permissions.
  • Please provide your postal code and school information. If you don’t have a US postal code or if your school is not listed, don’t worry! Simply enter the name of your school or any 5 numbers in place of a postal code.

Yes, students can view current and past sessions online. The class session history stores various types of data, such as student browsing history, chat records, screenshots captured by teachers, student check-ins, and a log of teacher commands. This data is automatically saved and can be accessed at any time.
